The launch of Iris Alexander 2018 Fine Diamond Jewellery Collection took place in the William Kent Room at The Ritz London on 12 December. The event was attended by special guest Olivia Palermo, former The City star known for being the ultimate style icon, Formula 1 Champion Mika Hakkinen, australian electric violinist Jane Cho, model and influencer Amanda Cronin and Sophie Stanbury, fashion writers Alice Naylor-Leyland and Alina Blinova and designers Melissa Odabash and Sonia Bernstein.
The launch opened with the speech by Iris Alexander – the owner and designer of the brand and the CEO – Phil Brilus. This collection was inspired by the Renaissance, as said by Iris “an era which celebrates the essence of how I feel about the modern woman and the beautiful pieces that I have created for her. … The woman who I have designed this collection for, is the “Renaissance Woman” of today, the modern woman. These pieces are designed to celebrate her natural beauty, her worth, her achievement and her power!”
As put by Phil Brilus: “…this is our first foray into designing and producing our very own collection, which sees our presence within every stage of the diamond’s journey… ‘From Rough to Romance’, ‘From Mine to Mistress, ‘From Earth to Elegance”. From us – to you. … We hold operations in every centre of the diamond world. We see stones drawn from the earth at the mines in Africa, being cut and polished in Antwerp, and sold in New York, Tel Aviv and Dubai. Maintaining this process allows us to select the very best diamonds for our own private collections which are then offered to an invited audience – those of you who are here tonight.”
The launch gathered leading socialites, fashion bloggers, social media influencers, as well as jewellery enthusiasts and diamond admirers. Among high profile guests were Mikka Hakkinen and his wife Marketa, Jane Cho, up-and-coming model Frankie Herbert, Alice Naylor-Leyland, Amanda Cronin, Melissa Odabash, Veronica Chou, Meredith Ostrom.
